wow that's interesting. I've been claiming with ardent ferver that consumer spending would slow, that it would have to. I may have been early with my prediction but now it's happening, except for car sales and gasoline sales.

It will be interesting to see if the current record-breaking wave of home mrtgage refi's leads to more consumer spending or if it will simply mean that exisitng debt can be managed for a while longer.
