Carter was the guy who negotiated the hostages' freedom [thanks to Raygun].

My recollection is that the hostages were released and on their way home on Inaugural Day.

However, turns out later that the kids who kidnapped the embassy staff had no idea what to do with them, and nobody else did either. They kept holding them to save face.

The rest of the post, like suggesting bombing the Kaaba stone, sounds like late-night deep in the bottle ranting.
