I'd rather not see the innovation that the USA is capable of stifled by socialist meddling; I seriously doubt the internet for use by the general public could ever have happened with the statist attitude that prevails in Europe.>> Basically I agree (and France is among the worst offenders when it comes to stifling entrepreneurship). Still doesn't mean there aren't excellent investment opportunities overseas, especially as part of an overall portfolio risk management strategy. I do think we'll see more than cosmetic reregulation of U.S. banking and financial services in general as a result of the bubble unwinding.
