John, I think Anand does good benchmarking. The home user needs to know a few things. 1.How quickly does my computer boot? 2.How high a res and high many FPS can I get in all the leading games. 3.How fast can my browser render pages and how fast do java applets run. The Business user cares about the boot time and little else. Maybe how long does word take to reindex a large doc. I think there should be a little graph on the side of each pc sold with a few bars. A Bootbar, a GameBar and a BusinessBar. To produce the bars you have to use software from the last 3 years including the latest and greatest versions and average them out since that will approximate most user's software library. C
