re: The placard looks like one designed to be placed beside a running system, doesn't it? Otherwise, it would have emphasized the range of CPU speeds it supports, rather than a single speed.

Where was the "running system", hmmmm? Dang difficult to connect one of those placards into a chassis slot!

Petz,

<I systems are truly available from OEMs in September as promised, its like a normal P4 launch.>

I haven't followed the CPU scene closely for a while now so I do not know how Intel is doing its CPU launches. For anyone watching this business (even from a distance) it is clear that P4 to Athlon is like Athlon to CuMine.
So I would be very surprised if Intel is doing paper launches. That's usually a sign of company tht is behind on technology.

<Besides that, why should Clawhammer scale any worse than TBred in CPU speed?>

I didn't say that. Did I? All I was asking was where Hammer is in terms of the product being available. Last I checked around there wasn't any sighting beyond 800MHz. Based on the two responses I have seen, it looks like that that is still the case. Which makes me suspect the reality of Hammer this year (even in small volumes)
