Right...a 3 to 5 year sell restriction would be rational. If there is any hanky-panky going on, that's enough time to uncover it. The holding period would have the advantage of aligning management with investors, which would tend to overcome the temptations we have today. Also, management couldn't complain that this takes away their ability to attract talented engineers.

There have been other worthwhile suggestions...quarterly reporting is one of them.

Wouldn't it be nice if the SEC would also like the idea well enough to implement it.

Matter of fact, that gives me an idea. Suppose I wrote a letter to the SEC proposing this idea. Are there others here who would be willing to add their signatures. Maybe our influence is practically zero as ARS says, but if we went public with it.....? Carbon copies to our Senators and Representatives, business editors of our home town newspapers plus WSJ, Forbes, BW....in other words, a PR campaign.

Any interest?
