Yes, there are more trees than ever because of reforestation. However, those they're harvesting them sooner than ever, the result being the quality of wood isn't there, whether because the trees aren't old enough or nutrients are depleted.

I'm not pulling your leg, Oregon has more hungry and undernourished children than any state in this country. It's the worst, bar none. It aslo has the highest incidence of child abuse. Directing people to shelters that are so overcrowded they turn people away is not the answer. I've worked with a number of service organizations over the years that help underprivileged and problems are getting worse, not better.
