Loathe as I am 2 write 2U & Answer any Q from you, your appreciated contribution of How2Buy Au n Ag stox earlier on this thread earns you this response:

The only 2 "free" ways to get ahold of Mktvane sentiment indicators I know of are both "stale" by being a week old when they are released, minimally. And even THAT is a subscription service as explained below.

This Marketvane dude is a control freak and has been since he thunk up this sentiment indicator up over 20 years ago simply to facilitate his own floor trading strategies as a "local" as they are known in the trade.

FWIW: One of my jobs at the brokerage used to be hand entering his sentiment indicators the moment they were released on Wednesday morning before market opened, courtesy of our Chicago central office backroom conference call then, back in those early 80's days. Then I had to follow-up and updating the hand-plotted graphs for visual referral, photocopy and distribute to the rest of my fellow brokers.

So, the short answer: the live quote news services releases the stale numbers weekly, and a quick call to a commodity brokerage house will give you the less stale weekly number. Try Vision for example, or Ira Epstein, etc.

Marketvane--since the old days--updates it nightly and catchs Change of Trend or COTs as you and I call them in their infancy now, which is why his control freak side is even more in control. The way he maintains this control is simple... the sentiment indicators are based SOLELY upon his own personal survey via phone/fax of HIS personal network of floor traders/friends/associates from his over 30 years in the commodity business. Old boy network loyalty has been good to him and continues to be, which is why nobody rats on his numbers, and likewise, he has NEVER NEVER EVER revealed who his survey-ees are in the 20 some odd years I've been tracking him.

And no, I won't furnish either very stale, slightly stale or overnight numbers, so don't ask. (like you would swallow your pride and do so....HAHAHAHAHAHA)

As much money as you make in this game, Russ, quite being such a tightass and open yer damn wallet. Some guys and their products/info are worth supporting!!! For MY money, Marketvane is one of those rare few!!!!!!

Laying a trendline on the now computer generated X/Y MarketVane graphs will make you money, guarandamnteeya!!! Especially since most "trading systems" are trend following systems and not market predictor systems like P&F can be used for. And I KNOW you more than dabble in TA. So, Buy the Map, Russ!

Hi Russ:

I know of a great free site that provides the MarketVane sentiment figures...but it is a week late.
It is a great site.

" Nationalist Weekly Market Commentary "

Currently it is 2 weeks behind, but that is an anomaly.
It usually comes out every Sunday night - late.

Sorry I could only give the name and not an actual link...But I am a little challenged in some areas..LOL
