The main challenge of run and gun in the pros is that the roster and salary cap limits make it harder to stockpile the players you need. You need a great QB, enough protection so he doesn't get killed, several skilled receivers, AND a defense that can respond when placed in a difficult position. You also need defensive depth because your defense is gonna play more than 30 minutes per game. At a dominant college program you can stockpile the players to do that. In the pros it might be tough.
