When the Hammer is out, AMD will suddenly get particularly interested in code that is recompiled for x86-64 and its larger register file.

Probable, but they won't have a BAPCo to make the most popular benchmark suite recompile 100% for 64bit. Intel does.

Also, we won't have this possible before Win64 is out and my little finger tells me that it could take at least a good year and a half.
