Or is there a reason it should be moderated? Different people have different ideas about the point of moderated threads. OMD expressed mine pretty well. If I were to ever start a thread, I would make it moderated. It's nice to have that capability in your toolkit in case you really need it. This thread is supposed to be a boxing ring. I wouldn't toss anyone off who wasn't wrecking the thread. That would be my criterion. I'm sure we've all seen wrecked threads. I recall a stock thread with one guy who showed up periodically posting nonsense and triggering the whole thread to go ballistic each time screaming at him about being short. All of a sudden there would be 100 junk posts. He just wouldn't go away and it eventually wrecked the thread. I don't see that happening here. TP posts occasionally and there are occasional responses to his posts but no big flurry of activity. Every once in a while JLA reacts by trying to get him banned. JLA's campaigns are more disruptive than anything TP posts (unless you want to consider "root causes," that is). <ggg> You can't expect to participate here without ever being discomfited. I don't mind if a Nazi posts or TP posts or anyone else as long as it doesn't blow up the thread. That, IMO, is why we have moderation. Not to enforce the law or the TOU or for freedom of speech but to protect the viability of the thread. If we ban people for the opinions they express, we are going against the entire point of a boxing ring. Now THAT is something that threatens the thread.
