I think all brokers will have a tough time, but the worst
will be seen with those whose future is tied with investment banking, highbrow banking, and mastercards

Schwab has no invbanking, and is not connected to anything else

so many other brokerages are subject to risk of lawsuit
since they are tied to invbanking
Salamon SB is a subsidiary of Citigroup
and Citibank has $13B at risk in Brazil (to go bad by winter)
the combo of shholder lawsuit and defaulted sovereign debt will be awesome to watch

Schwab is already trimming down
their overhead is larger than some slim online brokers
who knows?
I expect some brokerages to go under
and a few onliners to go under

I have thought more and more about protecting myself
and I highly recommend it to others
have your stocks issued into certificate form and mailed to you
you are NOT imposing on the broker house
it is your right as an investor
that is the old-fashioned way that was done for decades
the new way is never to see your shares except on a screen

I expect every single niche within the financial sector to be shaken to its core this autumn & winter
