Rich, What were your thoughts the day of 9/11? Did you think this country had been attacked? Were you angry? Were you ready to fight? I know you were, and I bet if I researched your messages back then I could prove it.

Now take those feelings and multiply them by a factor of a thousand. That's how you are going to feel if somebody torches off a nuclear device in one of our cities. And the rest of us will be a thousand times as angry too. We will probably lash out like a wounded bear at anything that moves.

Only then it will be too late. People who put their head in the sand will not be thought of kindly. I dare say they could be severely ostracized, and might even be in grave danger from their fellow citizens whether it's fair and just or not. I myself would feel both angry at them and pity them for the guilt they must feel because they had the chance and blew it.

GWB is not going to blow our chance. You should give him some wiggle room and let him pursue the course of action he sees fit. He'll be validated in the next election--or not. But give him a chance.

Palestinians order government workers to rally for Saddam
Friday, August 23, 2002
GAZA CITY — The Palestinian Authority has helped organize demonstrations in support of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

Palestinian sources said PA officials have joined rallies in several cities in the Gaza Strip backing Saddam against a U.S.-led attack on Baghdad.

The sources said PA officials have ordered employees of several government agencies to participate in the demonstrations.

The Palestinian rallies have included the burning of flags of Israel and the United States and shooting, Middle East Newsline reported. Demonstrators have chanted appeals for Saddam to launch missile attacks against Israel
The demonstrations have also included posters of Saddam and PA Chairman Yasser Arafat. Arafat backed Saddam in the 1991 Gulf war.
The pro-Saddam demonstrations began last week in Gaza City and are being led by the ruling Fatah movement. Most of the mid-level and senior positions in the PA are manned by Fatah members.

Iraq has sent more than $30 million to finance the Palestinian insurgency war against Israel. Much of the money has gone to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers.

Palestinian sources said families of suicide attackers have received between $25,000 and $30,000 from Baghdad. The families of others killed in the Palestinian war have received about $10,000.
