The point of my post wasn't to point out "support" for taking action against Iraq. There is no question in my mind that a lot more people are against it than for it. But that's not the yardstick. What "the people" or "the allies" or "the government" wants to do is immaterial. What is important is right vs. wrong; ultimately, that will be the way the debate is framed. Is it the RIGHT thing to do, to remove the threat of Saddam? I don't know; in my mind it is, and I don't have to stop and think about it too much -- it seems fairly obvious.

Government by polls is really, really dangerous and is likely to result in bad government. I believe the horrors of the Clinton administration pretty much provide proof of this fact.
