Yes, I think I read too much.

I just finished Seabiscuit. What a great story. Do you know who got the most press coverage in the U.S. in 1938? FDR? Hitler? No, a knobby-kneed, squat, undersized horse who liked to sleep in, chow down copiously (he often ate his bed), loved to preen for the crowds, taunted his rivals by slowing down and then pulling away at the last moment ... talk about being your own horse. That was Seabiscuit, progeny of the legendary Man O' War. The Biscuit became even a bigger legend in his own time, and the country came to a halt every time he raced.

You have to love this horse, if you cherish an independent spirit. Great evocation of the depression years of the 1930's in America, when horse-racing was the country's most popular sport. Soon to be a movie.
