No. AMD intentionally picked a number rating system that could be mistaken, by the less sophisticated, for MHz. It was and is an intentional scheme to deceive the majority of consumers that don't know a megahurtz from a megawatt. It's marketing 101, can't win on the perceived value scale, then invent your own scale. Been there, been a victim of that, in other industries. Let me ask you two questions. Does any microprocessor benchmark have any real world relevance to the average end user buying a PC? And what percent of average end users have even heard of BAPCo, much less paid any attention to their benchmarks? Guaranteed, a lot more folks have been deceived by the phony AMD modelhurtz numbers than everything BAPCo has published since it came into existence. It's all marketing, Dan.
