One of the email newsletters I subscribed to while reading up on that gartley pattern is also showing the pattern on the SPX. However, they are drawing it starting from the May high, and have a completion target of around 980.

Here is what I did. Downs(sort of) ES.

8/19 Long 933.5
8/20 stop 945 +11.5 pts
8/20 short 839.5
8/20 stop 942 -2.5pts
8/20 short 935.25
8/20 stop 938 -2.75pts
8/21 short 933.75
8/21 stop 937 -3.25pts
8/22 long 956.5
8/22 stop 956.5 0pts

total +3 pts

If I had set break even stops I simply would have saved myself some points.

However, I agree and will just use Eds stops and quit trying to think for myself, LOL. Defer to his experience. Better to pick a way to go and just stick with it. Ed's been doing this a lot longer so.......

Phoenix, BTW, the new commentary. Written as if he knew I was out as he suggests an entry for me on Monday. That happens but is unusual since once Ed is in a trade he usually only worries about how to get out not how to get in again, LOL. You'll see what I mean in the "Medium Term OEX" part of the commentary.
