I was reading about Somalia. Following the time line of events in 1993 it is clear the UN mandate imposed to disarm the population was ill-conceived and directly led to the attack and the deaths of the 24 Pakistani soldiers as well as the 17 we lost in Mogadishu in a reprisal and kidnap attempt of Aideed. My condolences to the families of the lost Pakistani soldiers as well as the families of our fallen soldiers.
