No, he isn't unique on this thread, Laz. Anyone besides Bill you'd like to nominate? :-) TP doesn't do his best work here; he does it on GWB and Impeach. Oh, and the Jackass Hotel. Must not forget that. If you want to see what set things off, you need to look at those threads. They are where the issue really originated. OK, so you got one on Bill. I could match it with dozens on TP. That, in fact, is my Pet Peeve about this thread. That's true on any thread. People commonly respond to only part of a preceding post of any length. I see little that can be done about it in any case. If that became a dp offense, the thread would be depopulated. The fact that Solon, X, me, or anybody else didn't push your political hot buttons sufficiently to make you vote to silence their expression on the BOXING RING thread doesn't make the fact that TP did any less true. But we're not talking about JUST me. Aren't JLA and Bill due some honors? They didn't complain either! Speaking of nonresponsive, that's a little fact you conveniently keep dropping on the way to the keyboard. TP annoyed JLA and you politically to the degree that you defend silencing him! Isn't that true? C'mon, admit it!!! It was political. Wrong. Explain then why I didn't propose marcos or cosmic for banning. I'd say they're further left than TP. You didn't silence me because calling Clinton a rapist wasn't politically offensive to you. I know you don't like :-), but surely you can't have missed it entirely. You are just plain wrong. There are many on this thread who disagree with me. But they don't make a habit of lying, libeling and retailing crack pot conspiracy theories with EVERY post....That is the difference....

Confession Had His Signature; DNA Did Not nytimes.com [ somewhat on that topic ] Eighteen years ago, Eddie Joe Lloyd confessed in horrific detail to the rape and murder of 16-year-old Michelle Jackson, solving a case that had terrified this city after a wave of fatal child abductions in the area. Mr. Lloyd's account, in a six-page statement and an audiotape, was chillingly accurate. It described Michelle's Gloria Vanderbilt jeans and half-moon earrings, the red-handled knife used to threaten her, the long johns that strangled her, the dirty green bottle left in her rectum. The only false thing about the confession was the confession itself. At a hearing on Monday, prosecutors and defense attorneys will appear together before the judge who sentenced Mr. Lloyd to life in prison in 1985, lamenting as he did so Michigan's lack of the death penalty. They plan to present DNA evidence to show that Mr. Lloyd is the wrong man and request his release. Mr. Lloyd, who was in a mental hospital at the time of his arrest and had contacted the police about Michelle's case, has maintained since his conviction that the confession was a ruse he cooked up with the detective to smoke out the real killer. "I knew the statement was false, and he knew the statement was false," Mr. Lloyd, 54, said in an interview at the downtown jail where he is spending his final days of confinement. "I was trying to help. I was thoroughly tricked. Inveigled, enticed, tricked. Sometimes the pressures on you to sign a statement is not them twisting your arm. It can be psychological and mental." . . .
