I thought it was to be run almost like GWB, except for a specific exclusion of a sicko doing his thing From the perspective of the role of the moderator, I thought so, too. But I agree with Laz that there is a different culture here. We at least make an attempt to discuss issues. The partisanship and the wingmanship intrude, but for the most part, they aren't the primary thrust. The one point I heard in the argument for banning TP was that his posts were more along the lines of the GWB culture than the SMBR culture. I pointed this out to TP when he first started posting thinking that, as a newbie, he might be unaware of the cultural difference. He ignored my point and I didn't appreciate it. Had JLA led his campaign with that angle rather than the arguments he used, I might have been more sympathetic. Perhaps not, since TP isn't the only one who posts primarily in the GWB style here, but the debate would have been different.

You didn't notice? I could. I control the bannee list. Instead the matter went to the thread. At this point the proposal is losing resoundingly. Would you prefer it be handled differently? Dictatorship? As you will recall, I didn't support the exclusion of Emile or bia. I agree with your statement about Evile. Tough. Your memory of the BIA matter differs from mine. I do specifically remember that that was not my idea and had not occurred to me until it was proposed to me. It's a boxing ring. TP was boxing, wasn't he? No. He was behaving like an idiot. Which fits.
