Last night for dinner I broiled the most scrumptious "chicken like" patties- by grainburger, I think. They come with little stripes on them, as if you BBQ'ed them on a grill. I broiled them in olive oil by consortio. My children and I thought they were very tasty. And my kids thought they were eating meat (but no, they were not). We also have found the meatless meat balls to be very tasty. And I enjoy all the meatless burgers. Many of the frozen vegetarian meals are scrumptious, and come in family size portions. It is very easy now to be a vegetarian, especially if you live near a large well stocked grocery store.

I like X's answer that we confine ourselves to eating only animals who have
been bred specifically as a food source.

Okay. No more lobster. Only farm-raised salmon and catfish for fish or fish meal. No herring, anchovies, tuna, albacore, no crabs, limited number of oysters (we have an oyster farm here, that's okay, but most are wild.) Bye-bye sushi bars.

Most of the land animals are okay because we've destroyed their habitat enough that we can't raise enough wild chickens, beef, turkeys, pigs, etc. to live off of. But so far, we haven't farmed the sea in the same way we have farmed the land.
