Dave, fair enough that a rig here and there is NOT a huge problem.....we have them right here in the middle of the city of LA in spots.
But the forests can't be reopened under W for a bad excuse that these forest fires are caused by less logging.
They aren't interested in thinning....only clear cutting. And the way W is regressing it is going to impact the most sensitive areas of Old Growth. That I believe is very wrong. And if you've been to Texas once, it's too much!
I am a landholder in Colorado also and firmly believe in keeping things balanced. And that is not what W is trying to do. It's a (to use a very current pun) a SMOKESCREEN to give the timber industry back all the hard won advancements in protecting the best of the best.
