I will have to put you on ignore if we are going to start agreeing: I don't know how much the cutting of our lower 48 forests has to do with it, but every tree does decrease pollution and CO2 in the environment. You are absolutely right; however, managed forests produce a lot more oxygen and consume a lot more CO2 than old growth. A LOT MORE. In fact, old growth is a net producer of CO2 because of respiration of the decomposition decay organisms.

Don't get me wrong; I've seen more old growth than most of the people in this discussion, and I like it as much as the next guy. I do, however, insist on telling the truth about it.

"The clearcutting blame on Global warming is in fact certainly true on the rainforest front"

I live in Detroit and have travelled most of the states and I have yet to find a rain forest in this country.
