Right, I think Hulbert would have a much better service if he found a more accurate way to account for advice. Since newsletter writers would like Hulbert to speak kindly of them, they would likely fall into line if he wanted to find a better system. Unless (LOL) they are looking to deceive. As for mistakes, deliberate or just sloppy, I think being off 15% on your allocation is enough. Is Brinker not getting any new customers? If the market continues to go down, his new customers will be surprised when they don't get the same returns he does. Even with his huge cash hoarde (not including the QQQs, MSFT, etc.) he's actually down since 2000 in the most aggressive portfolio. That's pretty amazing.
