Any ones who look at BOBJ should also look at COGN since these two have been head to head in terms of competition for the longest time.. Another one that has done very well last little while is HYSL.. BI should do well going forward even if the likes of Oracle struggle a bit..

PeopleSoft Demonstrates Strong Momentum in CRM
Source: PSFT

NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 26, 2002--At Connect 2002, PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT - News) today announced it is demonstrating strong momentum in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) marketplace with 75 customer wins in the second quarter. Customers including Manugistics Group Inc., Crestone International Inc., Norstan Inc. and Sybase Inc. have chosen PeopleSoft CRM to replace their current Siebel systems. PeopleSoft also announced the general availability of PeopleSoft CRM for Government.

"We were faced with a choice of upgrading our existing Siebel implementation or picking a new CRM system that more closely fit our needs. PeopleSoft offered us a proven architecture, tight linkage of front-office and back-office processes, and a better set of implementation tools. We chose PeopleSoft," said Sean McCormack, COO and founder, Crestone International Inc.

"Customers are recognizing the tremendous value of integrating business processes that link the front office and back office in real time," said Joe Davis, vice president and general manager, PeopleSoft CRM. "Organizations looking to upgrade their Siebel client/server systems are finding that they have a better alternative with PeopleSoft CRM. This is just the tip of the iceberg."

Additional new PeopleSoft CRM customers include: Amerigroup; Henry Ford Health System; United Nations Development Programme; Future Electronics; Recall Corporation; ICG Communications Incorporated; IDX Systems Corporation; State of North Dakota; Hewitt Associates; University of California, Santa Cruz; Pelephone; Bezeq Call; LifeCare and University of North Texas.

"Our research shows that the CRM market is now extremely competitive, with the consequence that there is no longer one dominant vendor standard," says Liz Shahnam, vice president, META Group. "The most successful vendors will deliver on the fundamental new user need: best-in-class CRM functionality that is transparently integrated with transaction and fulfillment processes."

PeopleSoft CRM for Government

PeopleSoft CRM for Government provides a single point-of-contact between government organizations and their constituents, business partners and other agencies. The solution delivers self-service capabilities, providing constituents instant access to information, such as how to file an application, apply for a permit, or submit a service request. These capabilities enable government organizations to deliver dramatically higher levels of service and lower administrative costs.

Henderson, Nevada, is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, and the second largest city in the state. "The City of Henderson will be able to integrate information from multiple functional areas and create comprehensive reports, thereby providing better accountability throughout the City," said Curlie O. Matthews, CIO for the City of Henderson. "As a result, city employees and our constituents will realize significant benefits from using this new solution."
