This was your statement:

The liberal position has always been that it is better to let a killer back on the street to kill again than to allow the state the power to extinguish him.

I retract that it says that only liberals think it is better to let a killer back on the street to kill again than to allow the state the power to extinguish him. It says that has always been "the liberal position," but does not, it is true, make any comment whatever on non-liberal positions on the death penalty.

Is it your belief that the liberal position is that it is better to let a killer back on the street to kill again than to allow the state the power to extinguish him but that the RW anti-dp position is... something else less noxious?

Do share.

P.S.

Please produce a post of mine (or of anyone on SI or anyone on Planet Earth) which supports this statement:

The liberal position has always been that it is better to let a killer back on the street to kill again than to allow the state the power to extinguish him.

If you cannot, please retract it as I retracted my misstatement.

Speaking of my misstatement: I look forward to your explanation of how RW dp opponents differ from liberal ones in your view.
