Tim, in a post, he suggesting that Europe and the US needed to defend against evil, implying that Saddam and terrorists are evil. Isn't that what Ms. Rice said as well? Of course some of them do, but by and large we have given them no reason to think that we are evil. And even if I am wrong that doesn't mean we actually are evil. Do you think the US has rutinely acted in an evil way? If the answer is no then why is what the Iraqi's think an issue? If we aren't even and they think we are then they are wrong. Tim, what Iraqis think is evil and what we think is evil may be two very different things. I suspect the Iraqis have very different standards then we do to determine what is evil. And I suspect at a minimum many of them think our gov't is evil, and probably we, the people, as well. And if they haven't thought about it, I'm sure Saddam has brought it up. And I bet he has a list of reasons as to why he thinks we're evil. As for what I think........I generally think we don't come from an evil place but I think we have been evil in our past. We are a big and aggressive country with a very strong ego and a huge manifest destiny. During our history, the opportunity for evil has been great; and I think a few times we have acted accordingly. ted
