Here is a clip from "NRO" that sums up the NYT problem.

The New York Times, under Howell Raines, is simply outdoing itself. The news pages are so loaded with commentary, with loaded commentary, that is, they practically make Impromptus look like the AP.

Here was a headline about North Korea: "North Korea Incurs U.S. Penalty for Missile Parts Sales to Yemen: Setback to Ties Is Favored by Bush Hard-liners."

"Setback to ties," favored by "Bush hard-liners."

Absolutely incredible. There is no embarrassment, not even an attempt at cover, which, I suppose, is a good thing. Might as well let it all hang out, if you're going to a European-style advocacy newspaper. It's the faking, the pretending, that's tough to swallow.
