Comon....the bombing of North Vietnamese cities has been pretty well established

It was far from indiscriminate. While we didn't have the kind of accuracy we have today, civilian targets were specifically avoided.

Not at all. Indiscriminate bombing with modern (or Vietnam era, or great numbers of WWII era) aircraft levels cities. We didn't do anything close to that. In fact for large sections of the war some of the North Vietnamese cities esp. Hanoi where off limits to bombing. So my statement "there was no heavy indiscriminate bombing of civilian centers, is completely accurate.
