The time spent in the mountains was good.

I chopped wood and carried water.

Okay... well not really.

I sawed wood and drank beer from cooler that was filled with 1 part Ice, 1 part water, and 1 part beer. And I carried it from the car to the deck.

My father and I spent the whole time building a small addition to the house where we intend to put a new furnace.
We got most of it done in the few days we were there.
All we have to do next weekend is put on the roof shingles and a small bit of siding that we didn't finish.

The summer went by very quickly.

It seems that we just finished putting the docks in the water and now we'll be taking them out next weekend.

The kids already go back to school next week.

Time flies.

Sorry to hear your mountain is on fire.
I read this weekend that there have been several fires in our neck of the woods, too. Several hundred acres burned.
There are even large portable highway signs on the interstate flashing not to have camp fires in the woods.

Anyhow, it was good to be away.
Makes you forget about all of the noise going on around the world.

Seems like as soon as I get home, I can't avoid seeing what Shrub is up to next.
Or who is fighting or killing or kidnapping who.

I seem to come back incredibly clear headed only to get it all stuffed up again by the current events.

I had life all figured out this past weekend.
One day home, and it has become confusing once again.

I need less news.
