Thanks for the observations. Yes, I agree that class differences do not equate to inequities in power. I think they equate more to rivalry for different forms of power. What is interesting about the US is the persistence and political strength of the middle class. I think it is unusual in this world for the middle class to be so large, powerful, and adulated as it is in the US.
