By the president men's policies it should be ok for either India or Pakistan to execute pre-emptive actions against one another.

It is very difficult to argue with the logic of pre-emption. If you don't do it pre-emptively, you can't do it at all. Had someone intervened with Pakistan and India, there would be no concern about them today.

To suggest that Iraq is not a "sworn enemy" of the United States is silly. It is obvious from his actions that Saddam's hatred for the United States and his beligerence in disgegarding international law makes us his "sworn enemy".

Al, we have come to this position with Iraq to a large extent because of failures of the previous administration. I think Cheney's speech made it clear that Bush doesn't want to leave it to risk that another weak administration will allow us to get into further trouble. To me, that is a prudent position.
