If it's just a dual-CPU box, a 4-way box might fit the bill, but it might be better just to get a 2nd server. However, if you are already on multiple 2-way servers, it might be time to consider jumping to 4-way. <What are the expected specs on the Itanium 2 chips?> HP is already reporting the best dual-CPU performance and the best quad-CPU performance on TPC-C.
