It may be speculation but its supported.

No, global warming is supported speculation.

Isn't that what I said?

The idea that it will easily be so extreme that it will cause a lot of problems that humans or non-human life will generally not be able to adjust to is unsupported speculation.

That's not true.......they have extended out the current rate of increase in the average global temp., and from that, extrapolated what daily temps would be like for key US cities in the year 2050. In fact, US Today did a whole weather map with these temps plugged in. It was not pretty.

Only because you act like it will be a walk in the park. If global warming is real, and I have heard nothing from you to prove otherwise, then there will be dislocations varying from very unpleasant to frightening. I think its worth brining up some of those possible dislocations.

How is statements like "A severe ice age would not wipe out mankind." or similar statements about global warming, acting "like it will be a walk in the park"?

You give the impression that it will be a minor inconvenience and not something to worry about. I base my responses upon the attitude you project.

I would say that the dislocations will vary from nil to slightly frightening for developed countries and from nil to frightening for undeveloped countries if the current most popular theories about global warming are correct.

I suspect the probability of nil is non existent. We are already feeling the effects of global warming. Nation states in the Pacific are threatened with extinction because of rising waters. How long do you think it will be before we begin to experience problems in Hawaii?
