How do you know that you haven't been brainwashed into believing that that's true?

If you'll excuse a "broad generalization" (something I KNOW you would never do <g>), only a true liberal could think this way.

When one looks at good vs. evil, there are absolutes involved; it isn't determined relative to the particular culture in question. Good is good; evil is evil, and there can be no confusion between the two. If Iraqis see their leader as anything other than evil, they are, well, wrong.

Ted, if Iraq is such an open society full of diverse ideals, then why don't you go right into Baghdad and preach your liberalism to the masses? Would you do it even for a million dollars? I doubt anyone would want to put his or her life on the line for that.

<How do you know that you haven't been brainwashed into believing that that's true?>

How do I know? I know. I read articles, and I read books. I listen to the radio, and I watch the media. And I relate everything I see and hear and read to a set of core beliefs that I hold dear to.

If you think I'm being brainwashed, then you are belittling my point-of-view, and our conversation is over.
