Are you a former Intel employee?

Wolff, Re: "What of anything has Barrett ever done well at Intel? Focus on yields at FABs? That is hardly a skilled insight by a CEO."

I couldn't disagree more. Focusing on manufacturing is the best thing that Barrett could do for Intel, and the results have already spoken. Intel is ahead on .13u manufacturing, while the whole industry continues to have problems. Barrett has invested in the future, while most CEOs have tightened their belts during the recession. I think wherever Intel is when things improve will be a testament to Barrett's competence. If Intel cannot improve faster than the rest of the industry, then maybe you are right. One thing for sure is that Intel has remained profitable while many others in the same sector have suffered huge losses. That has to be worth something.

RE:"Barrett is incompetent and the Board of Directors should REMOVE him. His comments are nothing more than amateurish speculation by someone who has a professional responsibility and obligation to not shoot off his mouth in front of cameras."

Don't think he's incompetent but he may hav a touch of the peter principle.
I figured that if Barrett says things aren't selling that well then things are pretty bad because I haven't heard that negative tone from him before.

Wolff,

I tend to agree with you about Barrett, for different reasons. I'm don't know if Ottelini is quite ready to take over. Barrett appears to be managing the company a lot better than he did early on, when, IMHO, he was really bad.

I'm don't know if there was a good reason for his earnings comments. One time he commented on Intel's earning during their quiet period, a major mistake, assuming it wasn't a calculated decision. He always seems to make his remarks when he is Asia, so that other markets have the opportunity to react before the US markets (jet lag?). Not exactly friendly to the US stockholders.

My humble opinion, as an Intel stockholder, is that there must be someone better than Barrett.
