first off, the idea of Sodom attacking the Saudis is ridiculous.

The Saudis damned sure didn't think it was ridiculous.

Oh, right! They were shaking in their booties as they got out of their Lexus and Mercedes. Why do you think the Saudis are willing to be the catalyst for keeping global oil prices stabile........besides helping to insure a steady income for the kingdom? The deal is this.....you keep oil prices stabile and we'll foot the bill for your protection.

Of course, that wouldn't be necessary if the gluttons among us didn't have to pig out on gas gluttons like SUVs. Some of them are even proud of the fact that they consume more than the weight of their SUVs in oil. But if questioned, they are the true patriots......ready to send all the young guys off to fight their war.

In any case, that's why Saudi Arabia can plow its billions into new mansions, expensive cars, stocks and unoccupied office buildings because we pay its defense costs.......and lordie, they still get to shoot us the bird. And once again, we play nice-nice with another somewhat benevolent despot...........and people wonder why the world hates us. Think of all the Saudis who hate their repressive gov't.......and what they must think of the US. No wonder we have terrorists ready to take us out.

And if he were to do something so stupid, let the Saudi military fight him off. I am tired of paying for sh*t wars that get us nowhere.

So long as we are not developing our own oil (i.e., ANWR) we will have to defend our sources of supply with ferocity. So next time we get the chance to develop domestic resources, perhaps you ought to think about which you prefer: Wars to defend our supply, or saving freaking muddy tundra for the fauna and freaking flora.

You know.........even if ANWR could produce oil tomorrow, we would still be up sh*t creek. Get it.......we have very little reserves left........and you know what else gets me tired is hearing that science will come up with something soon that will allow us to wean us off oil. Well, it ain't been happening and it doesn't look like its going to happen anytime soon, and ANWR ain't happening and those road hogs that have to be free to be who they are and drive where they want on the cheap, and don't want a tax on gas, and don't want to take light rail or buses because its not the American way. Well, they are the ones helping the Saudis put the screws to us.
