"I'm a bad person to ask about that. I have friends who work at Gap (a local company) and their business is getting much, much better. But they are more of a turnaround play I'd say. "

Liz,

The Gap is definitely a turnaround play. They dropped the ball big time and it is time to get their act together. They have smart people so will likely pull it off.

Glenn has reported weak demand -- and today's sentiment numbers are at least cause for some realistic concern. I just think there is SO much monetary and fiscal stimulus (war spending) in the pipeline that something has to give. If it is not enough that there is nothing that will be enough -- a bad sign to be sure. Even lower rates won't matter now if past cuts are not working. Remember -- I am long and hopeful -- but there are reasons to wonder if we are moving into a swamp.
