. I know that we just emerged from the greatest bubble in history, even worse than 1929, and we are much worse off now than we were then

It is all too east to throw around the word "Bubble" now; there should be some kind of special police force to monitor this type of offense.

As for the Greatest Bubble, have you checked out G's charts lately of current backlog for AMAT? We are now at about 3.3B, off of 4.3B from 2000, but well off the '98 lows of 917M. These numbers are all from memory so they may be off. But in any case, if what you were saying was true, we would not even be approaching the 2000 highs for backlog, but in fact we are. There was gross overvaluation in many sectors, but all overvaluations were not equal and all were not "Bubbles." This is the type of simplistic nonsense I expect from Cramer, not from knowledgable posters on this thread.

And how is this worse than '29? We had unemployment of about 30% back then with no govt safety nets. That type of comparative statement is an insult to anyone who lived through those exceptionally difficult times. If you really believe that, then you really do not have a clue IMHO, and probably need to stop by a retirement home and have a chat with some more knowledgable in this area.
