It’s and interesting question, do I believe that Barrett’s comments were approved and well though out and done for a specific purpose?

Well I think that can happen, but in this case I think the answer is No.

I think Barrett’s comments were made off the cuff, without thought of impact or implication. There is no reason why Intel had to get out in front of a their key customer and key partner HP/Compaq on their earnings Day.

It was a mistake, it had a terrible effect on the stock price, and its not the first time Barrett has screwed up.

Barrett has risen to a level where his in now incompetent, and he is failing. Nobody but the Board of Directors can change his job status, and investors are suffering because of his performance at the job.
