3 folks struck and killed by lightning

I don't know what it's like in the USA mid west but the thunderstorms and lightening in New England used to scare the bejeepers out of me. It's unusual to see fork lightning and ground strikes here, and when it happens it is a thinner wimpier European version of the USA variety -g- The USA variety seem to get several heavy stabs at whatever it's striking.

I would usually get in my car or truck and go somewhere where there was lots of other cars and trucks. I was once stuck on a boat with a thirty five foot aluminium mast. Unfortunately all the other boats I could find had smaller masts. Most unfortunate. Talk about not carrying golf clubs!! The strikes all just went into the ground instead of the harbour for some reason.

I hear it's the same when you are shipwrecked in a shark infested sea. Your most honest desire is there are lots of other survivors in the sea with you -g-
