You've left out our old friends Abu Nidal, Carlos the Jackal, the Baader-Meinhof gang, the IRA, and some others. They share training camps and teach each other techniques. I dunno, teach each other the secret terrorist handshake or something. Sell each other weapons. Stuff like that.

How dare you forget the Grandfather of Modern Terrorism, Yasser Arafat? Who ordered the Munich massacre or the killing of the US diplomats in Khartoum or the old man in a wheelchair on the Achille Lauro?

Looking for precision, are you? Let's see, Abu Nidal was regional and dead, Carlos is dead, ditto the Baader-Meinhof and they were regional, the IRA is regional. So, my sentence:

The only clear case I've seen of global terrorism is Al Qaeda.

is amended to read: The only clear present case of global terrorism is Al Qaeda. Better?

You may face the prospect of Al Qaeda armed with WMD with equanimity but it scares me spitless.

Oh, me too. Only I'm much worse. I can easily substitute the "h" for the "p". But I'm not certain why that's relevant. Unless you are going back to the discussion about Iraq arming Al Q.
