he was just the lesser of evils taken for convenience

After Bush Sr. sent all the weapons to Iran in return for keeping the hostages until the election he needed a counterpoint to their growing influence (Plus they leaked the Iran/Contra details). He punished them with Iraq, of course he punished America with Iraq too.

When did Sadaam attack the U.S.? And how can he attack the U.S.? God God man when will you learn to exercise your own brain and disregard the propaganda that's flying around now - to justify an unprovoked war?

You've bought into some propaganda, without knowing it, probably.

a) "do good in the world", as if that's the US role. Who decided that? Who pays for that? What if we (as it looks like) we get our civilians assassinated for what we wrongly think is "doing good in the world"?

b) "under attack all the time by two-bit dictators", is the precise opposite of the view from the rest of the world. It looks from outside the US like the US is attacking others "all the time", 200 such wars and attacks since 1950, and 7 countries currently. This is what happens when taxes skyrocket for WWII, aren't brought down, and the excessive military looks for something to do.
