why do you consider it a divergence? Out of the blocks this morning the market went up. At the same time the VIX went down a little smidge and printed an O. But, by the end of the day, the VIX was +.44.

If the SPX would run I think we would have a great opportunity to short or use puts. To me it looks like 969 is the deciding number. If we print 970 its really a good chart. On the other hand I still think we're going to dip and test those July lows. With bad earnings, lack of trust on Wall Street and a confrontation with Iraq looming I just can't see a REAL rally happening. I suspect we stop at or before spx 969 and then print 930. After that there's nothing but air until the 880's and then the 830's.
