I'm ready for college football...

Me too.

Actually I'm not a big college football follower especially because I went to a small state school who had a div3 team.

This year, however, I have a lot of polishing up to do.
I have to learn a lot about it as far as who is in which division and the names of a few good players.

More so I have to learn a lot more about Notre Dame's Fighting Irish.

Here's why...

One of my most comfortable tee shirts happens to be one that has the Notre Dame fighting Irish Logo on the front of it. I bought it at a flee market for under $10.
I often wear it to football practice.

Well... little did I know there was a parent who is a super big fan of the team. He lives and breathes Irish football.

Anyhow, he comes up to me one day and starts remarking about this years' team etc. I figured I'd expand on the small talk by mentioning something about the new coach Tyrone Willingham who I had read the smallest of tidbits on while scanning the news on Yahoo.

Well he figured I was as huge of a fan as him after that.
Meanwhile I only sort of followed the team back when Lou Holtz was their coach.

So now every practice he tries to talk more Irish football with me but I got myself into too deep to admit to him that I really don't know a heck of a lot about them other than what colors they wear on their jersey and helmut.

I just throw a lot of general football talk at him and say "South Bend" a lot...

So later today I have to do some homework and learn as much as I can about them and the rest of college football so I sound like I know what I'm talking about. Thursday he's bringing me a bunch of schedules and programs that he picked up when he was in South Bend on vacation two weeks ago...

I think it would break his heart if he found out I don't know didley about it. <g> <ng>
He talks with such passion about them.

WashingtonU'er,

I see your team finishes it's season against the cross state rivals, The Washington State Cougars.

I also saw that your team is ranked #9 in the country with the Cougs ranked 11th.

That sure makes for an exciting finally, especially if both teams play up to their potential.

It could definitely have some major bowl game shifting depending on who wins I would think.

I was impressed with the Coug's quarterback and WR's last year when I saw them at the Sun Bowl.

It looks like you might be playing Ratso's, team also.
Didn't he go to Stanford? (Just kidding! I know that will get under the skin of the Rat.)

I think he went to Cal.
Or maybe that was a different California team. There are a lot there aren't there.

Not much in my area of NY except Army.

Doing my homework, it looks like Notre Dame has a very tough schedule. 9 of the teams were in bowl games last year.

For some reason I thought they were in the same division as Michigan and Michigan State. Unless they recently changed.
they are Independent. Like No Division?
Is that right?

These divisions sure are cornfusing.

Polvos' Lobos of Albuquerque have a few tough games.
Most of them are from the same division.

I'm going to try to watch a few games this Saturday if possible.
Hopefully I'll get to see your Washington Huskies against Michigan.
