Gotta have a story. When in doubt, delve into history. Makes for good copy.
While they had/have tons of problems, look at AOL. Hell, that write down they took was journalistic fodder for over 6 months. In fact, I read an article yesterday that mentioned it even though it had nothing to do with the piece that was written.
Bad news sells right now.

Interesting that it's had little or no effect on ORCL today.

The part about LEGO was clearly really old news (2 years ago). What was completely unclear to me (because the dates were left unsaid) were whether 11i had turned the corner in usability. But perhaps the guy types so slowly that it took months to get the story written...
