John, Re: "The analyst cut his fiscal 2002 loss estimate for AMD to $1.56, down from a loss of $1.45. For next year, Mosesmann slashed his expectation to a loss of 10 cents, down from breakeven. The Street is expecting a loss of $1.42 for this year and a loss of 58 cents in 2003."

Ouch. If AMD's Q3 is flat with last quarter, they are going to be hurting for cash. They would be looking at a $300M loss, this time without tax refunds. Amazing that Prudential can maintain "buy" on a dog like this. And to think the street estimates a $0.58 loss for next year, too? Mosesmann is more optimistic, but he predicts a loss, too. When will AMD make money? Won't Intel have something more competitive by late 2003, going into 2004?

This is "cutting" the loss estimate?
