I wasn't kidding when I said I envy you. A number of years back during what I refer to as "my previous life" (i.e. first marriage), I had a winterized square timber cabin. It was on 6 acres right on the water of a small (about 1/2 mile wide by 3 miles long) lake in the woods, about 5 miles from the nearest but very small town.

The place didn't have any electricity (there were no poles near the place) but I had a 200 gallon propane bullet. With the exception of the wood fireplace, everything I needed ran on propane -- the lights, the stove, even the fridge -- not many of my visitors had ever seen a propane fridge.
