Thanks for the explanation. I have gone through some of these option things before and a lot of times I did the same thing you did, which is to save some "remaining" values in the option. I fully understand what a whipsaw or sideways action can do to the premiums.

I have my own trading account and an account that I manage for someone else. Over the last two years, I have "wasted" a lot of money on commissions and option premium deterioration in my own account. The other account is mainly short and hold. What is interesting is that the winnings in the two accounts come out the same percentage wise, even though I am trading more fanatically in own own account. I always felt that I was making all the money by catching the little moves in my own account, but the truth is that the end result tells me otherwise. I have to admit that it has taken a long time for me to appreciate the strategies of trading options, and costly too.
