RE: "...when Lieutenant William Calley and his squad rounded up 100 villagers into a ditch and shot them dead."

There is a difference between acts committed by foot soldiers caught up in the horror that is war and acts initiated by political leaders sitting safely at home.

Calley committed a crime. There were mitigating circumstances. It is not certain what could reasonably be expected from an average, law abiding US citizen placed in those circumstances.

Why only criticism of US ? Do you hate the US that much. I have enjoyed the dialogue with you and find you extremely articulate and intelligent but this tack will ultimately get me to say to that if you hate the United States so much you should leave. Did you ever get a look at what the Vietnamese did to americans??

You can add when Lieutenant William Calley and his squad rounded up 100 villagers into a ditch and shot them dead.

The villagers were enemy troops were villagers.

Do not blame the warrior for the stupidity of leadership.
